The faces behind the press

Whimsical Publishing Press is a self made indie press started by Lily Baldanza, a full time Publishing MA student at York St.John University. Lily has previously been head of editorial for her undergraduate student anthology 'Beyond the Walls' in 2021, since then, Whimsical Publishing Press was born! Lily is now joined by two wonderful new editions to the Whimsical Family, Social media and website specialist Lottie and Editor Karoline. Whimsical Pressstands for the love of all things unexpected, exciting and unique, with inspiration such as Jim Henson's Labyrinth, Christina Rossetti's Goblin market and so much more; Whimsical Publishing Press gives way to writers who dare to be different and want to share whimsical and engaging stories. Harking back to childhood imagination and a love of the natural world.

Lily Baldanza

Founder, editor, manager and so much more... Lily is the founder of the self made whimsical publishing press, she is currently studying a masters in publishing and in her spare time loves playing lots of Stardew Valley.

Website and Social Media Specialist

Lottie Brooke

Dealing with the online aspects of the magazine, Lottie is also studying a Masters in Creative Writing, working in a wine bar and being a mum to a 2-year-old! She loves to paint, embroider and watch Audrey Hepburn Films.

Karoline Tübben

Karoline is a Latina writer and publishing hopeful. When she's not reading and writing, she can be seen bartending, travelling or accumulating too many extra curriculars. Karoline is excited to be a part of this team and spread some whimsicality back into our world!

Molly Lodge

Molly is freshly out of a journalism and media degree, and when she isn't working she enjoys spending time with her girlfriend and playing indie games. Catch her running our wonderfully whimsical new TikTok account!
